The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 8800 block of North Hickory Valley Road at approximately 9 p.m. Officers found the wreck involved two men who had been riding bicycles without any reflection devices and wearing dark clothing. They were hit by William Brumlow, 30, who was driving a 1983 Toyota truck that was traveling west on North Hickory Valley Road. One rider, Jordan Cross, 22, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Erlanger Hospital, where he was admitted. The second rider, William Riden, 20, was treated and released with minor scrapes and bruises. The driver of the 1983 Toyota truck was given a citation for a financial responsibility infraction and violation of the registration law. Deputy Charles Sledge, traffic investigator for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, said that due to the dark conditions of the area, no reflective devices on the bicycles and dark clothing worn by both riders, no further charges will be given. |
