A 53-year-old Charleston, Tn., man died in a wreck on Lower River Road in Charleston on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call of a crash in the 2100 block of Lower River Road at 2:40 p.m.
Also responding were the Emergency Medical Service and the Bradley County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Unit.
Medical personnel arrived on the scene and determined the driver of taFord pickup truck had died of his injuries.
Preliminary investigation by the traffic unit indicates the vehicle was traveling south on Eureka Road when it crossed to the opposite lane while rounding a small curve. The vehicle left the road, traveled down an embankment and struck a large tree.
The victim was identified as Terry Earnest of Lower River Road.
The BCSO Traffic Unit is continuing investigation of the crash.
