Red Bank Council Announces New Initiative For Education
posted August 21, 2008

The Red Bank Council announced a new initiative in support of education for the Red Bank area schools entitled the “Earning for Learning” Program.

The area schools include Red Bank High School, Red Bank Middle School, Alpine Crest Elementary, Red Bank Elementary, and the Dawn School.

The council will be awarding mini-grants to an individual teacher at each school in the amount of $500 for teaching projects for the 2009 school year for a total of $2,500.

A panel of independent reviewers will evaluate each application and make the selection based on the benefit to the school, community, and classroom.

Applications will be submitted by Sept. 5, and the winning applications will be presented with the mini-grant at the Sept. 16th council luncheon which will be at the Red Rock Grill at noon.

The teachers selected, along with their principals and the schools they represent, will be recognized at the luncheon.

The teachers selected will give the Red Bank Council a report at the Council’s May 2009 luncheon on the success of their projects.

For additional information, contact Red Bank Council Education Committee Chairman, Mary Sneed at 605-0798 or mesneed@comcast.net, or Linda Herrmann, president of the Red Bank Council at 875-9515 or lherrman@bellsouth.net.
