Armored Vehicle From Chattanooga Firm Involved In Fatal Wreck
posted August 22, 2008

An armored vehicle owned by a Chattanooga firm was involved in a fatal wreck in Gordon County, Ga., on Thursday.

The Georgia State Patrol said charges are pending against Daniel Allen Clark of Fort Payne, Ala., who was driving a Loomis Fargo armored truck.

Gordon County Ordinance Officer Kathy Cox was killed in the fiery crash on Georgia Highway 136 near Hall Memorial Road when the truck went over into her lane.

Ms. Cox, 50, from Resaca was driving her pickup truck when she was struck head on shortly before noon.

The Georgia State Patrol said the armored truck was traveling east when the vehicle in front of it slowed down. The truck skidded into the path of the Ford F-150 driven by Ms. Cox.

The pickup truck became engulfed in flames.
