Ribbon cuttings celebrating new ownership of Curves East Brainerd and Curves Ooltewah will be held this month. The ribbon cutting at the Curves East Brainerd will take place Aug. 25 at 10 a.m. at 8644 East Brainerd Road. The festivities at Curves Ooltewah at 9203 Old Lee Highway, Suite 112, are set for Aug.t 27 at 10 a.m.
The new owner is Dr. Michael Reynolds, chairman and CEO of Great Ideas, LLC, dba Great Clips of Ooltewah and the two Curves locations.
Dr. Reynolds is past president of Chattanooga Great Clips, a co-op of 15 salons in seven towns. He developed a strategic and marketing plan for the co-op resulting in a 30 percent market customer growth and a 20 percent market revenue growth in 2005.
Dr. Reynolds served as one of 14 franchisees on a national Franchisee Marketing and Review Council Board making recommendations in areas of policy and fiscal management to Great Clips.
Previously, Reynolds served as vice president of human resources and pastoral care for Northwest Georgia Bank and president/CEO and chair of Employer's Alliance, Inc. in Ringgold. He had a 20-year career in the U.S. Army.
Dr. Reynolds holds a doctorate in pastoral care and counseling from Lexington Theology Seminary in Kentucky and a master's of education degree from the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
Designed especially for women, Curves is a fitness and weight loss facility providing a circuit of machines and "recovery" blocks that offer clients a 30-minute, whole-body workout, plus a stretching routine for flexibility. A Curves specialty is keeping clients motivated to reach their goals and to have fun in the process.
Arrangements for the grand re-opening ceremonies are being made by the member-investor services department of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce.
