The $25,000 in grants will be used to augment and enhance various programs and activities benefiting citizens throughout the region, officials said.
"One of Eaton’s core values is to be considerate of our communities," said Patrick Hickey, plant manager, Eaton’s electrical facility in Cleveland.
"We are proud to support these organizations because they help foster a culture that provides enriching opportunities to the citizens of Cleveland and the surrounding areas,” added Adam Moffatt, human resources manager, Eaton’s hydraulics facility also in Cleveland.
Funding recipients include:
American Cancer Society - $8,000 to sponsor Relay for Life.
Cleveland City Schools - $16,500 to support the enrichment program for academically talented fourth and fifth graders at Ross and Stuart Elementary Schools during the 2008-2009 school year.
Habitat for Humanity - $5,000 to support a new home building project.
Eaton’s electrical and hydraulics facilities in Cleveland employ approximately 338 people.
