William H. (Bill) Derrick, 78, of Cleveland, died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at his home surrounded by family.

He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. Bill worked as the service manager for Waterlevel Motors for 15 years and was the owner of Derrick’s Auto Service from 1968 to 1984. Bill (KF40Z0) was a Ham Radio Technician and past treasurer of the Cleveland Amateur Radio Club. He loved his family, his houseboat, working on cars and fishing.

He was born September 24, 1929, in Charleston, Tn. and was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Essie Derrick; and his three sisters Floura Ledford, Gladys Morris and Louise Derrick.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Edith Pauline Segraves; daughters Linda Morris and husband Bill, and Donna Whitehead and special friend, Mark Chapman; son, Ron Derrick and wife Marlene; grandson and wife Jason and Shantae Morris and their children Ryder and Nash; granddaughter and husband Tangie and Justin Brewer and their son Landon; grandson, Stoney Whitehead and his children Ty Blaine, Rylee, and Gage; grandson Joe Derrick and his children Kimiko and Heaven-Leigh Derrick; granddaughter, Elisabeth Derrick of Cleveland; two brothers, Robert and Lynn Derrick, and one sister, Irene Crowe all of Cleveland.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held, 2 p.m. Tuesday, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Richard McKeehan officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a White Dove Ceremony concluding the service. Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Cleveland Amateur Radio Club

His family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 850 Fortwood Street, Chattanooga, TN 37403.
