September 1 – Walker County Schools will observe the Labor Day Holiday


September 3 – Rossville Elementary teachers and staff invite grandparents of pre-k through second grade students to Grandparents Day at 11:00 a.m. For more information, call Cathy Morton at 706-866-5901.


September 4 – North LaFayette Elementary Principal Kim Cardwell and first grade teachers invite parents of first grade students to lunch with their teachers and children. For more information, call Jennifer Martin at 706-638-1869.


September 5 – Chattanooga Valley Elementary will host a book fair September 5th through 12th in the media center. Parents and families are encouraged to drop by to choose books for their students. For more information, call Susan Wooten at 706-820-2511.


September 5 – Rossville Elementary teachers and staff invite grandparents of third through fifth grade students to a special Grandparents day at 11:00 a.m. For more information, call Cathy Morton at 706-866-5901.


September 6 – County Schools Parent Mentor Michal Jones announces a countywide Back to School Bash for students with disabilities at the Rollercoaster Skate Place in Fort Oglethorpe from noon until 4:00 p.m. All families of students with disabilities in Walker and Catoosa counties are invited to attend. The cost will be $3 per child. The snack bar and game room will be open. Students must be accompanied by parents. For information, call Michal Jones at 706-638-9778, extension 118.


September 6 – The Rock Spring Elementary PTO presents Community Movie Night on the all-purpose field in front of the school. Parents are encouraged to bring the whole family and drive in at only $10 per car to see. The movie, "Facing the Giants", starts at 7:30 p.m.; items at the concession stand will be only one dollar each. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend. September 9 – Walker County Schools Parent Mentor Michal Jones announces a Parent Information Night to discuss the transition from high school for students with disabilities. All parents of students with disabilities enrolled in Walker or Catoosa County high schools are invited to attend. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Heritage High School. For more information, call Michal Jones at 706-638-9778, extension 118.


September 9 – All grandparents of Chattanooga Valley Elementary students are invited to many special events on Grandparents' Day. For more information, call Lauren Walker at 706-820-2511.


September 9 – Principal Roger Hibbs and the staff of LaFayette High School invite students and their families to Open House at LaFayette High from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Parents will receive important information, visit classrooms and meet teachers. For more information, call 706-638-2342.


September 12 – North LaFayette Elementary Principal Kim Cardwell and teachers invite grandparents of their students to Grandparents' Day. For more information on the many special events planned, call Jennifer Martin at 706-638-1869.


September 12 – Naomi Elementary teachers and staff will host Grandparents' Day. For more information on the many special activities planned, call Misty Cook at 706-638-2443.
