Hospice of Chattanooga is planning a general hospice 101 volunteer orientation at its main office located at 4411 Oakwood Drive on Tuesday, Sept. 23rd from 1 to 5 p.m. The hospice orientation will include the Hospice history, mission and vision, hospice philosophy and volunteer opportunities.
In addition to the general hospice 101 orientation, volunteers who want to see patients must attend each additional class to be held on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 25th and 26th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
These classes will include sessions on grief, listening skills, the dying process and spiritual needs.
Hospice of Chattanooga is looking for volunteers to visit with patients in their homes, provide bereavement support, office support, pet therapy and staff health fairs. The orientations are free. Refreshments will be served. To register call
