National Print Group Receives Benny Award For National Geographic Map posted August 26, 2008 National Print Group, Inc. recently partnered with National Geographic Maps to earn a Premier Print Award for the United States Executive enlarged map. The Premier Print Award is awarded by Printing Industries of America and Graphic Arts Technical Foundation. The United States Executive enlarged map won the top honor, a "Benny," which is a bronze statuette of Benjamin Franklin. The "Benny" was awarded for magnificent printing with special recognition given to National Print Group, Inc. in Chattanooga, for the high quality printing used to produce the colorful 6-by-4-foot map. The United States Executive enlarged map was designed by Allen Carroll, National Geographic's chief cartographer, and digitally produced by senior cartographer Stephen Wells, with quality control managed by Dutch Holland. "National Print Group is honored to have combined forces with National Geographic Maps to produce such a fine informative map with such a unique antique quality," said Phil Harris, CEO of National Print Group, Inc. In the 59th year, The Premier Print Awards are the printing industry's oldest and largest worldwide graphic arts competition recognizing excellence in creation and production of print communications.
