Wellness Consultant For Many Health Agencies

Alice Mulligan Kazanowski, R.N., PH.D, died at Alexian Village, Signal Mountain, on Monday, Aug. 25, 2008.
She was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Manchester, N.H., and resided there during her formative years. She spent several years in New Orleans, La., and Corpus Christi, Texas, before moving to Signal Mountain 39 years ago.
After her children were grown, she embarked on a career of Wellness in the Chattanooga area. She concurrently resumed her education, receiving her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and her doctor of behavioral science from Columbia Pacific University.
Before Wellness was popular, she promoted and taught it at the American Diabetes Association, Southeast Tennessee Area Health Agency, Hamilton County Health Department, Tennessee Department of Public Health and the YMCA. She subsequently entered private practice as Wellness Consultant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Mulligan and Elizabeth Preston Mulligan; her siblings, William Mulligan Jr. and Eleanor Norton.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Kazanowski, Signal Mountain; daughters, Donna Kazanowski, Bloomington, Mn., Ann Elizabeth and husband, Mark Berg, Louisville, Ky., Janey and husband, Kevin Kaster, Foster City, Ca. and son, David and wife, Theresa Kazanowski, Avondale Estates, Ga.; grandchildren, Catherine Scott, Adam Sexter, Matthew Sexter, Christopher, Brian and Rose Kazanowski; Elizabeth Minor and Julianne Berg; great-grandchildren, Riley and Samantha Scott and Aaron and Hanna Minor.
Services will be held on Wednesday, at 11:15 a.m. in the Alexian Chapel, Signal Mountain.

The family will receive friends at the Alexian Chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
