Police Inform Scrap Dealers On Tighter New Laws posted August 27, 2008 The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office along with Chattanooga City Police, Collegedale Police, and the Soddy Daisy Police Department made the rounds of all area scrap metal businesses on Wednesday. The offers were updating them on the new laws pertaining to selling scrap metal. The tighter new laws go in effect Oct 1. The new laws are designed to help curb metal thefts that have been on the rise, police said. |
