Tri-State Logger Days And Equipment Expo Will Benefit T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital

Log A Load For Kids presents the 2008 Tri-State Logger Days and Equipment Expo. The three-day event will kick off on Sept. 6, at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Jasper, Tn. Proceeds from the event will benefit T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital, a Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

Several competitive events and family activities will be take place on Sept. 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Events include the excavator simulator challenge, log loader competition and the backhoe rodeo. Activities for all ages will include inflatable slides, antique car and equipment shows, prize drawings, food and drink vendors, and a US101 live radio broadcast.

The opening ceremony for the Marion County Fair will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 9 from 6-10 p.m. in the main fair arena. The grand prize winner of a certificate for 250 gallons of diesel fuel will also be announced.

Founded in 1988, Log A Load for Kids is a fund raising opportunity for loggers and other forestry industry personnel, in conjunction with forestry organizations and associations, to raise money for local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. One hundred percent of the money raised locally goes to T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital at Erlanger.

"Log A Load For Kids is a wonderful program that the entire forest industry can be proud of," said Magen Hooper, Children's Miracle Network coordinator for T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital. "Log A Load believes that children are our most precious resource. Their generosity allows us to provide the best possible care to children in our region."

Children's Miracle Network is an alliance of premier hospitals for children dedicated to helping kids by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America. As a Children's Miracle Network hospital, T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital is able to provide a unique environment of healing for all children, regardless of their financial situation.
