City Police Seeking Help In Aug. 8 Fatal Hit And Run

Chattanooga Police are seeking information on a hit and run traffic fatality that occurred on Aug. 8 around 11:15 p.m. at the I-24 1-75 split.

According to the traffic investigator, Cole J. Neal, 26, was traveling north on I-75 on a 1978 Honda Shadow motorcycle when a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus was also driving north on I-75 near the I-24 split.

Police said the driver of the Chrysler Cirrus told officers she had slowed to pull to the shoulder of the road when the motorcycle struck her in the rear. Mr. Cole was thrown from the motorcycle and slid out into the traffic lane. He was then struck by another vehicle and was killed.

This vehicle did not stop.

Chattanooga Police were told by witnesses the hit and run vehicle was a small dark-colored vehicle. The vehicle has not been identified.

Chattanooga Police traffic investigators are asking for any information on this accident and any help in identifying the vehicle or the driver of this hit and run vehicle.
