The Hixson girls soccer team opened their season with a 3-1 win at home on Thursday against the Lady Falcons of Lincoln County
With 22 minutes remaining in the first half, Allison Cowart scored for Hixson with an assist from Rebecca Kent. Eight minutes into the second half, Monica Lindsey scored on a long ball off of an assist by Courtney Miller.
Lincoln County answered back with 28 minutes remaining with a goal by Bonnie Sullivan. Hixson's final goal came with 3 minutes remaining. Rebecca Kent scored during the action following a corner with an assist by Andria Aurand.
Blair Kent had six saves in goal for Hixson. Andria Aurand, Monica Lindsey and Kathleen Kent had strong games in defense. Hixson is 1-0-0 and next meets East Ridge on Tuesday at Hixson.
