The annual Signal Mountain Lions Club Barbeque Monday will have new features this year in addition to the usual picnic fare. There will be barbeque pork, beans, slaw, funnel cakes, bratwurst, served in honor of the new Volkswagen plant, kraut, hamburgers, hot dogs, cotton candy and snow cones.
A truck raffle will start at 1 p.m. There will be 40 prizes, the last being a new 2008 Ford Ranger pickup truck. The winner does not have to be present. There are still a few $50 raffle tickets available by calling Curtiss Hewlett at 886-5953.
There will also be 17 craft vendors who will be selling home-made crafts.
The serving line will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m. or until food is gone. Prices are as follows:
BBQ pork plate with beans, slaw and bread, $6. Bratwurst plate with beans, slaw and bread, $6.
BBQ pork sandwich, $3. Bratwurst sandwich with kraut, peppers and onions, $4. Hamburgers, $3. Hot dogs, $2. Cotton candy, $2. Snow cones, $2. Funnel cakes, $3. Drinks, $1.
