Milton Millard Rankin Jr., 74, of East Ridge, died on Monday, Aug. 25, 2008.
He was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Perry County, Ark., to the late Milton M. Rankin Sr. and Pauline Rankin.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Mr. Rankin worked at many professions during his lifetime serving as a police officer, managing several local stores, the railroad and a musician. He loved boating and was also a Free Mason.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Rankin.
Survivors include four children, Terri Ann Rankin, of East Ridge, Alan M. Rankin, of Florida, Terry Wayne Rankin, of Signal Mountain, and Reggie Eldon Rankin, of Rossville; and grandchildren, Milton W. and Gideon W. Rankin and Eleanor P. Rankin.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor George Palmer officiating.
The family will receive friends from noon on Saturday until service time.
Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
