Stewart, Charles Earskin

Charles Earskin Stewart died on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at his home.

Charles retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years of service. He worked as a supervisor at U.S. Pipe for nine years, and prior to his failing health he worked as an armed security officer for Pinkerton Government Services for over five years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Preston; and brother, Wayne Stewart.

Charles is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Deborah Ann Stewart; three sons, Emanuel Sivels, Atlanta; Charles E. Stewart Jr. and Christopher Stewart, Chattanooga; four sisters, Gloria Campbell, Pottstown, Pa., Sandra Campbell, Carolyn (Dwight) Trimble and Jimmie Campbell, Chattanooga; one brother, Robert Campbell, Las Vegas, Ne.; four sisters-in-law, Gloria Sivels, Olivia (James) Pratt, Colleen Sivels and Wanda (Michael) Hickman; father-in-law, Columbus Sivels, Chattanooga; aunt, Alma Gardner, Chattanooga; ten grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at noon on Tuesday, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home with Bishop Robert L. Sharp officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5–8 p.m. on Monday at the John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
