A 61-year-old Florida man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 153 on Thursday night.
The victim was identified as Phil Harris of Stuart, Fla.
According to police reports, Mr. Harris was traveling northbound on Hixson Pike just after 10 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck the curve several times.
He was thrown from the bike and hit a guardrail.
He died on the scene as a result of head trauma.
