Baylor 26, CCS 57, David Brainerd 64 Virginia Kelly, Mary Bryant Myres, and Katie Reeves finished third, fourth, and fifth to lead Baylor's girls cross country team to a big win over Chattanooga Christian and David Brainerd Academy in Thursday's cross country meet.
The race was competed on Woodland Park Baptist Church's course, a true European style 5K venue, making for slower times due to interesting footing, mud, and crossings. Kelly finished in 21:31.12, Myres in 22:30.72, and Reeves ran 22:37.58.
Sydney Rupe and Kiki Rogers finished ninth and tenth in 24:06.24 and 24:59.87. Also for Baylor, Alex Ruffner was 12th (25:39.02), Kelly Neugent was 20th (27:11.04), Logan Davis 22nd (27:18.04), Kate McBrien was 23rd (27:57.14), and Kelly Dering finished 26th (28:07.82).
Baylor next races in the UTC Invitational on Saturday, September 7.
