Sarah Palin Will Make A Great Vice President - And Response (3) posted August 29, 2008 John McCain gets my vote. John McCain didn't disappoint with his selection of Sarah Palin. I am a member of the Pumas and I will be going down to the election commission on Monday and switch to the Republican party. How smart is John McCain to fill the veep slot with this accomplished beautiful mother of five. A self-made woman who started at the bottom and worked her way up. She will make a great Vice President. Susan Nicholas * * * Sarah Palin is certainly the best organizer and multi-tasker among the group. Instead of debate, let's give each candidate a list of timed tasks, and see who can complete the list first. Raising five children, starting out as a PTA mom, and arriving at governor of Alaska, speaks for her abilities. And knowledge, Ms. Palin is more qualified on the real-life domestic issues that are important to women, in comparison to any other candidate. Foreign policy is not rocket science and will certainly be easier to obtain this knowledge than raising five children, holding the office of governor, and keeping your marriage in tact for 20 years. I prefer candidates of substance, Sarah Palin has this substance. As a supporter of Hillary Clinton, the movie star who has fast tracked himself from state service and ducking when war-related votes were cast in the Senate does not impress me. Memo to self: Change to Republican Party. Allison Graham * * * Since when has giving birth qualified anyone for the second highest position in our government - with the strong possibility of becoming its leader? As to Sen. Obama's rise to fame, he shows persistence, determination, capability - and ability. Prejudice has many faces, including casting a ballot based only on gender. Linda Hedden Highlands, N.C. * * * I am glad to read that two women who sound very intelligent such as Ms. Nicholas and Ms. Graham are considering voting for the McCain/Palen ticket. Andrea Mitchell on Meet the Press, MSNBC commented that she thought Palen would only attract the "uneducated" Hillary supporters. I agree with those who think that the O'Bama campaign is walking on thin ice bringing up the "inexperience" argument with this woman who came up from years of local government, and then as governor of Alaska was the most popular governor in the United Statess Rachel Miller Signal Mountain |
