Three men have entered guilty pleas in connection with a 2005 murder in which a man was ambushed and shot three times in North Chattanooga.
Kenneth Lamar Alexander, 21, of 623 Spears Ave., was given a 15-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Harold Freeman.
Jeremy Reynolds pleaded guilty to facilitation to commit second-degree murder and was given an eight-year sentence.
Alexander and Reynolds appeared before Criminal Court Judge Don Poole on Friday.
A third defendant, Christian Dionte Woods, had been set to go to trial on Tuesday.
However, he wound up pleading guilty to attempted second-degree murder. He was given an eight-year sentence to be served at 30 percent.
His attorney, Robin Flores, said he was able to get a statement given by Woods suppressed. He also said there was no forensic evidence against his client.
But he said it was possible that one of the co-defendants might have taken the stand against him.
Drug and theft charges that Woods picked up while out on bond were dismissed.
Woods, 20, is from 623 Spears Ave. also.
Attorney Flores said Freeman had been lured to N. Sawyer Street after a dispute over money he allegedly owed.
He said it was alleged that Alexander was armed with an assault rifle and Woods with a shotgun.
The victim was shot while sitting in his car.
