Charles Edward “Charlie” Farris, 67, died on September 1, 2008.
He was born August 16, 1941 in Birchwood and spent most of his life in Cleveland. He was very faithful to his Lord and loved his gospel bluegrass. He was a well known car dealer and owned Spring Place Motors for twenty years. He was known and loved by everyone and liked to spend time at the flea markets with his friends. He will be missed by everyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ruth Farris; two sisters, Jackie Stokes and Debra Willis.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years Janice Lawson Farris; two sons, Brian Farris and Todd Farris and his wife Sabrina both of Cleveland; one daughter, Paige Farris Gunter and her husband Johnny of Cleveland; one special granddaughter, Kelsey Farris; two brothers, Jerry Farris of Cleveland and David Farris of Birchwood; five sisters, Ginger Roark of Birchwood, Rickie Stanley of Cohutta, Ga., Judy Lawhorn, Ann Guinn and Penny Heifner all of Cleveland; two aunts, Ruby Brown and Ressie Farris; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Ronnie Pearson and Mike Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Carl Ruth, Art Quarles, Gene Bishop, Junior Cross, Kenny King, Johnny Vest, Rick Daughtry, Scott Farris and Charlie Mikel serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3 until 9 p.m. at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes who is in charge of the arrangements.
