UTC's Boykin Receives Funding For Upward Bound PRISM Program

The Center for Community Career Education's Twyler Boykin, director of UTC's Upward Bound Math and Science program, has been awarded $250,000 from the U.S. Department of Education to continue the Upward Bound PRISM (Promoting Resolve in Science & Mathematics) program.

This program currently serves 50 students from Brainerd High School and Howard School of Academics and Technology, providing a variety of academic and support services. Participating students can take advantage of services including tutoring, counseling, and summer programs. The goal of the program is to encourage academic achievement and prepare students for college enrollment in the math and science disciplines.
