Lady Mocs Softball Continues To Prepare For Blue And Gold Game
posted September 3, 2008

The Lady Mocs softball team continues workouts in preparation for their Blue and Gold game on Oct. 11. On Tuesday, the Lady Mocs had their first practice outside at Frost Field and Head Coach Frank Reed sees several areas his team needs to improve on during fall practice.

"Since we are returning a lot of players, we are looking for more leadership out of this team," Reed said. "I wouldn't say that I am disappointed with our first few days of practice, I am just looking for more out of this team. We've had a good effort from everyone; we just need to pick up our intensity."

The Lady Mocs will continue to work out this week with weight lifting sessions on Wednesday and Friday. On Thursday, the team will practice and will work on some areas that Coach Reed wants to see improvement.

"We are going to do some more hitting," Reed said. "Thursday will be focused primarily on offense. If the weather stays nice, we will stay outside for practice, instead of going to the indoor facility."

The Lady Mocs will hold their Blue and Gold game at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11 at Frost Field. There will also be a ring presentation, celebrating the 2007 Southern Conference Championship Team.
