Parker, George Terry (Old Fort) posted September 4, 2008
He was a member of Chestuee Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #112 and was also a 32 degree Scottish and York Rite. Terry was the son of the late Ardell Parker and Mary Whaley Parker. He is survived by his wife, Emma Marie Parker of Old Fort; three children and spouses, George and Sherry Parker of Old Fort, John and Leigh Ann Parker of Cleveland and Terrie and Jimmy Wright of Charleston; four grandchildren, Sarah Wright, David Wright, Lucas Parker and Ethan Parker; one brother, Ron Parker of Cleveland; two sisters:, Linda Parker Long of Cleveland and Betty Jean Parker Martin of Corpus Christie, Texas; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Julin Robinson and Reverend Waymond Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with a Masonic service at the graveside. Sam Silvers, Jimmy Silver, Paul Silver, Jonathan Silvers, Howard Millsaps and Chris Peak will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
