Ms. Shipley has seven years experience in public relations including business manager of the Chattanooga Theatre Centre, director of marketing and community relations at Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga and, most recently, as the director of development and marketing for the city of Chattanooga’s Department of Education, Arts & Culture.
Ms. Shipley has a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and served as a U.S. Naval Oceanographic Officer in the United States Navy. She has been honored as Chattanooga’s 2008 Woman of Distinction and serves the Chattanooga community on a variety of boards and organizations.
She is married to Tom Shipley, the director of quality assurance for Walden Security in Chattanooga. Their daughter, Keli, is a junior at Girls Preparatory School. Ms. Shipley is also a dog lover and has two “girls,” a nine-year-old Humane Society Special and a two-year-old rescued Jack Russell Terrier.
