Soccer Scots Fall To Reinhardt College, 2-1
posted September 5, 2008

The Covenant Scots were not able to pick up their first soccer win of the season, losing 2-1 to visiting Reinhardt College.

One game after opening their season with a draw, the Scots looked to come out strong and get the win. However, after a goal in the early minutes by Reinhardt junior forward Paul Wiesboeck, Covenant had to play from behind for the remainder of the match.

After scoring for a second time late in the game, making it 2-0, Reinhardt seemed to be in control. Minutes later, however, Covenant sophomore forward Sasha Viatrov scored to put the Scots on the board as they seemed poised for a late-game comeback. Time proved to be an enemy for the Scots, though, as they were not able to tie it up and send the game to overtime.

The Scots are now 0-1-1 on the season.

After the game, head coach John Miglarese said, "We got what we deserved. We were complacent and we didn't show any heart. Hopefully this will wake us up."

The Scots will again try for their first win of the year when they host Bluefield College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
