Mrs. Reed was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and retired after 14 years as a nurse with Dr. Kistler. She was a skilled artisan who worked with an amazing variety of crafts throughout her life. She was a member of the East Ridge Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Vio Delashmitt; brother, Thomas Delashmitt; husbands, Gordon Lee Caldwell, George Thomas Reed; step-son, George T. Reed Jr.; and grandchild, Thomas J. Caldwell.
She is survived by her son, Tom Caldwell and wife Nancy; daughters, Martha Coyle and husband Mike, Rebecca DePriest and husband Harold; step-daughter, Linda Johnson; brother, Bernard Delashmitt; sister, Doris Price; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Charles Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, P.O. Box 19269, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Deanna Duncan, Carey Ryon, Sherry Campbell, Dr. Jitendra Gandhi, and the staff of Hospice of Chattanooga.
