Cain, Lucille M. posted September 6, 2008 Lucille M. Cain, 93, of the Peavine community, died on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at her residence. She was a native of Union County, Ga., and moved to Walker County in the 1940s. She was a daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth Prater England. Mrs. Cain was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Leon Cain; five sisters; and two brothers. She was a member of the Peavine Baptist Church, where she had taught Beginners Sunday School for more than 35 years and had served in other capacities: VBS, Sunbeams, WMU and loved Community Missions. Mrs. Cain had worked in the chenille textile industry and had worked at Peerless Woolin Mill in Rossville, where she met her husband. Survivors are her daughter, Sonja Cain, Peavine, Ga.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday in the Peavine Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Peavine Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Fellowship Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 329, Palmetto, Ga. 30268; or the Peavine Cemetery Fund 1089 Peavine Road, Rock Spring, Ga. 30739. Condolences may be sent at www.heritagefh.com. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway. |
