Agenda For Town Of Signal Mountain Monday, Sept. 8

A public input meeting of the Signal Mountain Town Council regarding possible annexation of Fox Run and Windtree subdivisions and surrounding areas will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at the Town Hall.

The regular monthly meeting of the Signal Mountain Town Council will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at the Town Hall.

4. Honorary Resolution
a. Honoring the Signal Mountain Lion's Club 50th Anniversary:

WHEREAS, in the fall of 1958 some 15 Signal Mountain men gathered at the Alexian Brothers home to begin founding the Signal Mountain Lions Club; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Signal Mountain Lions Club have consistently supported the community through events such as the 4th of July Celebration and the Labor Day Barbeque; and
WHEREAS, the motto of the Lions is "We Serve" and the Signal Mountain Lions Club continues to live up to this motto by supporting many community programs such as the Signal Mountain Library and the Mountain Arts Community Center; and
WHEREAS, the Signal Mountain Lions Club donated the WELCOME TO SIGNAL MOUNTAIN sign on Taft Highway at Shoal Creek Road and James Street which greets all visitors to the Town of Signal Mountain and graces the cover of the Signal Mountain Directory; and
WHEREAS, over the years the Signal Mountain Lions Club has played an active part in varius programs supporting sight conservation and work with the blind and visually handicapped; and
WHEREAS, current membership of the Signal Mountain Lions Club includes over seventy members and offers service minded people an opportunity to make a positive difference in our mountain community.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL Of THE TOWN OF SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, TENNESSEE, that the Signal Mountain Lions Club is hereby honored on its fiftieth (50th) anniversary for the outstanding and dedicated service of all its members to the citizens of the Town of Signal Mountain.

6. Resolution
a. Vacation Donation Policy:

WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, is authorized to adopt personnel rules for employees within the Town pursuant to Article VIII, Section 3 of the Town Charter; and
WHEREAS, the Town Manager has recommended the adoption of certain personnel rules for Town employees concerning employee leave, holiday, and vacation donations;
BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, that the Town Manager is authorized to adopt certain employee leave, holiday and vacation donation personnel rules for all Town employees of the Town of Signal Mountain, a copy of which is attached hereto.
