Juster Will Run Again For District 4 School Board Seat
posted September 8, 2008

Gregg Juster said Monday he plans to make another race for the District 4 school board seat.

Mr. Juster lost in August to incumbent Debra Matthews. Ms. Matthews died soon after the election, and the race will be on the ballot on Nov. 4.

M. Fran Pierce and George Ricks have qualified and Anita Polk-Conley has picked up papers.

Mr. Juster said, "I am making it official. I will be running for school board in District 4."

He said, "Here is why I am continuing my run for school board:

"1) A major change in philosophy is still needed to improve our school system.
2) It is still my civic duty to give back to my community.
3) I owe it to the people that donated their time and money to my campaign against Debra Matthews.
4) I know I am running in a district where I have been told numerous times I have no chance of winning. However, I believe that I always have a chance to succeed at any task if I work hard enough. I will never shy away from a challenge just because it is difficult.
5) I still want to expose the corruption, help eliminate back room deals, eliminate the wasteful spending, and lend an ear to everyone in my district.
6) I want to get our students back to basics and back on track to higher standards of excellence.

"And most of all -

"During the last election, I was made aware that opponents of mine unethically spread about $20,000 'cash' around District 4 in the last weeks of the election in order to buy votes and defeat me. I'll be darned if I will let them get away scot free in this next election. At the very least, these same folks are going to have to dig deep into their pockets again if they want someone elected that will continue to push their failing policies in our school system.

"If you would like to see an honest effort at improving the inner city schools, your hard working tax dollars spent more efficiently, and a representative that will be open and honest with you, then I need your help in getting elected. If you would like to donate time or money, please contact me.

"It is time for a change in direction for District 4 - Please make sure that you get out and vote for Gregg Juster, and tell everyone you know in District 4 to do the same."

The deadline to qualify is Thursday at noon.
