UTC's Teacher Education Academy, Education Trust President Kati Haycock
and Artist-in-Residence Brooke Haycock will present "Achievement in
America: The Numbers and the Stories they Tell" on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 5-7:15 p.m. in the UTC Fine Arts Center, corner of Vine and Palmetto
Streets. This event will focus on the heart of some of the most critical
issues facing American public education today.
Organizers said, "The Education Trust will present information on data and achievement and identify gaps in opportunity that lead to gaps in achievement. This honest look at trends in achievement, opportunity and gap-closing will cover schools across the country and at every level.
"Additionally, attendees will experience a dynamic one-woman performance and hear the powerful voices and stories of the educators, the school leaders and the students behind the numbers.
"This presentation will be of interest to those preparing for a career in
education, veteran educators and for concerned citizen who care deeply
about children. Plan to attend and join the conversation."
