United Way Helps Nonprofits Prepare For Regulation Changes
posted October 2, 2008

United Way's Center for Nonprofits will hold an information session on Oct. 17, at 8:30 a.m. regarding upcoming regulatory changes in nonprofit 403(b) retirement plans.

New regulations concerning 403(b) plans go into effect beginning Jan. 1, 2009 and nonprofit organizations with existing 403(b) plans must have a new plan document – that complies with the new regulations – in place by this date.

There are many options when it comes to updating a 403(b) plan. Everyone is welcome to attend this short informative presentation that will focus on the changes taking place and how they will affect an organization's 403(b) plan. This session will be presented by Linda Murphy and Deena Turner of Mutual of America with a question and answer session to follow.

This session is free, but registration is required. To register, visit www.cnpchatt.org or call Sara Ellenburg at 752-0329.

United Way's Center for Nonprofits is a management service that helps nonprofit organizations achieve their missions more efficiently and effectively. The Center offers workshops, tailored training sessions, consultation services, planning facilitation, board development and a library dedicated to excellence in nonprofit management.
