Faith-Based Organizations Invited To Early Childhood Expo
posted October 2, 2008

25 percent of children entering school do not have the skills they need to succeed in school or life. Therefore, United Way and its partners are asking faith-based organizations to join them in helping to support children in our neighborhoods.

Hamilton County faith-based organizations are invited to attend the Early Childhood Expo on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 8:30-10 a.m. It will be held at the offices of Partnership for Families, Children and Adults at 1800 McCallie Avenue in downtown Chattanooga. A continental breakfast will be served.

Organizers said, "Visitors who attend this event will learn what the faith-based community can do to help children succeed. They will also discover what resources are available to support their efforts for the children and families they serve through their organizations."

For more information, call Lu Lewis, assistant director of United Way's Invest in Children, at 423 752-0323 about early childhood resources available in Hamilton County.

This event is sponsored by: United Way of Greater Chattanooga; Partnership for Families, Children and Adults; Read 20; Parents are First Teachers; and R.E.A.D. Chattanooga Inc.
