Doris Brooks, 80, of Ooltewah, died Friday evening, Oct. 3, 2008, in a local health care facility.
A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she was a member of the Bayside Baptist Church and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Willie Mae Riggs. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Oliver.
Survivors include her husband, Junior Brooks; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Walt Mikell, Ooltewah; son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Janey Brooks, Ooltewah; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Reeves, Ooltewah and Gloria Johnson, Harrison; brother, W.C. “Buddy” Riggs, Ooltewah.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Grady Cooper and the Rev. Bobby Adamson officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
