Polly Sue Henderson Vaughn, 70, died on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008.
She was born in Chattooga County to the late Gordon and Dessie Mae Brock Henderson. She had been a lifelong resident of the Chickamauga area and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in the Pond Springs community. She was a former employee of Kmart department store in Fort Oglethorpe, where she retired after 20 years of employment.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Renee Hixson; sisters, Martha Nation, Barb Prince; and her brother, Al Henderson.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest “Paul” Vaughn, of Chickamauga; sons and daughters-in-law, George and Josefa and Tim and Stephanie Hixson, all of LaFayette, Ga.; granddaughter, Nancy (John) Gallinger; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Gregory Gallinger; sisters, Betty Jenkins, Charlotte Arnold, June Angel; brothers, J.G. Henderson, Franklin Henderson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, in the chapel with Pastor Charles McElhaney officiating.
Burial will follow in Chickamauga Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12-9 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday morning until the service.
