Why I Decided To Vote For John McCain
posted October 5, 2008

America's political process has become a race best run by the "Sophist" caring not for what is right or wrong as long as they win the debate.

America no longer appears to be guided by moral decency nor inspired by the principles that apply. Note, I said appears, for I'm not ready (just yet) to concede to all of those that say we've lost our way..

Our nation's "Achilles Heel" may soon be discovered hiding in some loophole, and, if we continue to twist and bend the rules the way we have of late, we will go down hard from arrows that seek that mark.

I don't pretend to understand the details of HR:1424 (the bailout bill) but I do know that our nation and our way of life is under siege. Anyone who cares about this country and preserving our way of life would have to be very concerned.

I was never so conflicted about my choice for President as I have been this election year. In the beginning I was drawn to Barack Obama and then, for my own reasons, turned away. Since doing that I have tried to find good reasons to vote for John McCain and I admit it has been hard, for I do not agree with all of his approach. The difference maker for me was knowing America may be facing its greatest test in the coming years and she needs someone to lead her who loves her "warts and all." Someone who believes in her the way I believe in her. Someone who will stand by her right or wrong, because she is our motherland and remains the best bet to prevail against those who wish to rule the world.

I still believe Barack Obama is a smart man, but unconditional love for this country is not something he has shown to me. That is why I will be voting for John McCain. He loves this country and, if ever there was a time that we needed that from our leaders, it is now.

America still gives hope to freedom loving people around the world. She is a beacon of light in troubled time. America is the epitome of the Latin phrase Aude aliquid dignum, which means dare something worthy.

I will do just that, by voting for John McCain.
