Dorothy Higdon Wilkey, 93, died at Saint Barnabas Nursing Home in Chattanooga, on October 5, 2008.
Mrs. Wilkey was born in Higdon, Al., and was a daughter of the late William Horace Higdon and Edith Turner Higdon.
Her husband, Thomas Lynnwood Wilkey, died on June 1, 1976 in Mt. Holly, N.C., and she is the last remaining member of a family of three brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by her beloved Bill Voss, to whom she had a long friendship, and a number of nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be conducted at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 305 W. 7th St., Chattanooga, Tn., at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, with The Reverend and Honorable Sam Payne officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, following the service.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home, and again on Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
