Truck Driver Killed In I-75 Wreck posted October 6, 2008 A traffic accident at 1000 Interstate 75 involving two tractor trailers claimed the life of one of the drivers late Sunday night. The victim was identified as 37-year-old Horace Cook of Atlanta. The incident occurred after 11 p.m. when two Freightliners traveling southbound collided. One truck was rear-ended by the other. The driver of the second vehicle was killed after the cab of the truck caught fire. According to the driver of the first vehicle, he was slowing down to compensate for the change in speed limit when he was struck from behind. The impact of the collision caused the second truck to become engulfed in flames and the driver was not able to escape. Cleanup efforts for the accident caused traffic to be temporarily closed in both directions. |
