Five Points Of Life Riders To Visit Chattanooga
posted October 6, 2008

The Five Points of Life Bike Ride will come to Chattanooga on Thursday, to raise awareness of the need for donations of all five points of life: whole blood, apheresis, marrow, organ and tissue donations, and cord blood.

The Five Points of Life Bike Ride began in 1997 with the support of national donor organizations and financial support from corporate sponsors. Since then, 4,376 people have signed up for the National Marrow Donor Program as a result of the awareness raised by its participants.

Each rider in the race is selected for their personal connection to one or more of the five points.

The bikers make their cross-country journey, stopping at events hosted by local donor organizations. Blood Assurance will host a reception in their honor at the downtown location at 5 p.m.

For additional information, please contact the Blood Assurance Marketing and Public Relations Department at 423 756-0966.
