Jeff Ott Named Board Chairman Of State Association Of Homes And Services posted October 7, 2008
TNAHSA is an association of facilities and professionals providing quality housing, health, community and related services for the elderly. Through fellowship, education, advocacy, communication and leadership, TNAHSA strives to promote the welfare of older adults. With almost 25 years of experience in senior living administration, Mr. Ott was announced this week as the new Board Chairman of TNAHSA. “Jeff Ott is the right person to Chair Tennessee at this stage of the growth and development of our members and of our association,” said Larry Minnix president and chief executive officer of AAHSA. “He has broad service experience and a wise perspective on progressive policy. All elder Tennesseans are blessed by his leadership”. Mr. Ott served as a Delegate from the 6th Congressional District of North Carolina to the White House Conference on Aging in 1995, as the Committee Chair of the 2006-2007 SETN Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk, and sat on the Board of Directors for the Memorial North Park Hospital Committee from 2005 to 2008. Mr. Ott received his Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Studies from Barry University in 1987 and holds certification as a Retirement Housing Professional and in Non-profit Management. Additionally, Mr. Ott has served as president and chief executive officer of the Alexian Village of Tennessee since 2005. The bulk of Mr. Ott’s professional involvement, however, has been with the Association of Homes and Services for the Aging as well as the Tennessee chapter. Nationally, Mr. Ott has served on the RHP Program Committee, the CCRC Committee, and in the AAHSA House of Delegates. Regionally, Mr. Ott has served on the TNAHSA Legislative Advisory Committee and on the Board of Directors. “In order to achieve the best outcomes for seniors, I believe it is important to be engaged with regulators and legislators,” said Mr. Ott. “We have to work with those with regulatory and legislative authority to make sure we have sound solutions in place and I’m pleased to be an active participant in the conversation.” |
