Donald Marion Gonce, 70, of South Pittsburg, TN, died Tuesday at his home.
The son of the late Marion Albert Gonce, he was a lifelong farmer, a member of the Farmers Co-op, a former member of the Square Dance Club, a former Jaycee, and a communicant of Christ Episcopal Church. Donald loved to hunt, fish, ride horses, and hunt for arrowheads and other relics.
He is survived by his mother, Bertha Gonce of South Pittsburg; two daughters, Donna (Thomas R.) Lawson of Bridgeport, Ala., and Deena (Jere) Brown of South Pittsburg; one son, Mike (Jackie) Gonce of South Pittsburg; two sisters, Barbara (Jerry) Clepper of South Pittsburg and Carolyn (Wayne) LeRoy of Nashville; three grandchildren, Thomas Kyle Lawson, Tiffany Brown, and Jake Brown; and a good friend, Mike Russell.
The visitation will be at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Thursday, from 5 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, at Christ Episcopal Church in South Pittsburg, with Reverend Stephen Eichler officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
