Kudzu Motorcycle And Car Cruise Rolls Out This Saturday posted October 8, 2008 The Unwanted Motorcycle Club will kick off the second annual Kudzu Motorcycle and Car Cruise, an event to benefit T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital, this Saturday, at First Tennessee Pavilion beginning at 9:30 a.m. Motorcyclists and car enthusiasts alike are invited to participate in this fall's cruise. The 110-mile ride will consist of four stops: Soddy-Daisy Veterans Park, Dunlap Coke Ovens, Shellmound Recreation Area and Raccoon Mountain. Blessing of the Bikes will take place at 8:30 a.m. and registration will begin at 9 a.m. Registration is $10 per vehicle with optional poker hands at $5 each. Extra meal tickets may also be purchased for $5. The cruise, which will begin and end at First Tennessee Pavilion in downtown Chattanooga, will last until 4:30 p.m. The event will end with a live auction and plenty of opportunities to bid on items such as gift certificates, biker products, themed Build-A-Bears, home décor, board games, boat cleaning kit and outdoor/lake items; all to support Children's Hospital and the Unwanted Motorcycle Club's mission. Tom Kale, who heads the motorcycle group says, "Every member feels very strongly that helping children is a major part of the club's mission to the community. Our first ride was in 2002 and for seven years we have supported Children's Miracle Network and T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital." The cruise is just one of the ways the club raises money to fund a Teddy Bear Giveaway every holiday season. Teddy bears are custom made at Build-A-Bear and delivered to the patients and their siblings at Children's Hospital every Christmas Eve. For more information about the cruise, contact John "Skid Mark" Harris at 423 364-7469. |
