Brainerd Woman Faces Charges After Dead Dogs Found posted October 9, 2008 A Brainerd woman has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty after officers said they found five dog corpses in a shed at her home. The charge was brought against Jenia Lachanda Taylor, 32. Officer Stephen Mayo said he found one puppy still alive with the dead dogs at 1300 Gillespie Road. He said the puppy was emaciated and had apparently survived by eating a portion of its siblings' corpses. Ms. Taylor said she knew there were dead puppies in the shed, but never went near the shed due to the smell. She said that kept her from feeding any remaining puppies. |
