Mocs Head to Final Tourney Of The Fall Season At Brickyard Collegiate
posted October 9, 2008

The Chattanooga Mocs head to Macon, Ga., for the Brickyard Collegiate Championship beginning Saturday. It’s the final tournament of the fall slate for the 12th-ranked Mocs.

Chattanooga faces a strong field with two top 10 teams and four more in the top 30. No. 4 Georgia and No. 8 Clemson help the Mocs highlight the field. The trio will be challenged by the likes of No. 18 Georgia Tech, No. 25 Augusta State and No. 30 Wake Forest.

The field also includes perennially strong programs like Charlotte, Florida State, Duke, Penn State and Virginia Tech who are off to slow starts in the rankings this fall. The 54-hole event runs through Monday.

Senior Ben Rickett enters this weekend’s event as the most consistent golfer for the Mocs. He is ranked No. 35 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Ratings Index and No. 111 in the R&A World Amateur Rankings where teammate Jonathan Hodge is No. 34.
