The Fireman's Fountain memorial at Fountain Square across from the County Courthouse will undergo a $75,900 renovation.
Officials said the fountain and statue had deteriorated beyond the scope of normal maintenance.
The project will restore the fountain to new condition, it was stated.
The low bid was submitted by Robinson Iron Corporation.
Funding will come from the county ($50,000 from a 2004 bond issue) and the city ($25,900).
