She retired from Dixie yarn after 47 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Soddy Daisy for over 60 years, where she was a member of the Friends Sunday School Class. Mary volunteered several years in the church nursery, library, choir, and music department. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Blanche Rawlston; sister, Dorotha Williams. Survivors include two sisters, and two brothers; Edna Sims, of Graysville; Lamar Rawlston, of Whitwell; Rita Barger, of Graysville; John Rawlston, Sr. of Sale Creek; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Seton Tomyn officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, and from 1 p.m. on Sunday until the time of the service at the North Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Soddy Daisy Scholarship Fund. Arrangements are made by Chattanooga Funeral Crematory and Florist, 5401 Hwy, 153 Hixson, Tn. 37343. |
