Susan was born December 25, 1951 in Port St. Joe, Fla., and has lived in TN since the age of 2. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church for over 44 years where she was a choir member for more than 35 years and a faithful member of the Hope Sunday School Class. Susan loved to travel and enjoyed cruises. She had a fondness for butterflies and all animals, especially her cat, ‘Bambi’. She was an avid fan of the game shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and loved Braves baseball. She was employed by TN Vocation and Rehabilitation Center.
She is survived by her parents, Carl and Betty Norton of Cleveland; brothers, Sam and his wife, Judy Norton of Gulfport, MS, and Scott and his wife, Merietta Norton of Baton Rouge, La.; nieces, Jessica Jackson of Mandeville, La., Sarah Blakeney of Hattiesburg, Miss., Emily Norton of New Orleans, La., Kirkley and Lynley Norton of Baton Rouge, La., and great nephew Caleb Blakeney of Hattiesburg, Miss.; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Caywood and the Rev. Harold Smith officiating. Interment will be held on Monday 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony to conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
