Moc Golfers In Fifth After First Round Of Brickyard Collegiate

The 12th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs are in fifth place after one round of the Brickyard Collegiate Championship at the Brickyard at Riverside in Macon, Ga. The Mocs shot 294, 14-over par.

Freshman Stephan Jaeger led the Mocs with a two-over par 72 which ties him for eighth overall. Jaeger carded three birdies and five bogeys on his round. Senior Ben Rickett, who shot 73 (+3), is tied for 14th, while fellow senior Jonathan Hodge came in at 74 (+4).

Redshirt freshman Hudson Keener shot a five-over par 75 in his first tournament as a counter. Junior Tripp Harris shot a 77 (+7).

Georgia Tech leads the way with a two-over par 282. The Yellow Jackets were led by overall leader Cameron Tringale, who shot a three-under par 67.

Clemson is in second place at 290 (+10) followed closely by Virginia Tech at 291 (+11). Fourth-place Georgia is at 292 (+12), two shots clear of Chattanooga.

Round two begins at 9:20 a.m. for the Mocs with Tripp Harris leading off. Chattanooga is paired with Wake Forest and Georgia. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
